COURSE ORGANISATION AND SAFETY
As well as lessons with an instructor, it is obvious that you need to practice again and again in order to learn and progress in kitesurfing. While ensuring your safety on the beach as well as on the water, we organise our lessons in such a way as to maximise your practice time. At Duotone Pro Center Sicily there are no lessons with 4 or more people sharing a kite. Whenever conditions allow, the instructors make sure you have your own kite to practice and train with in a safe and secure environment. They also gave a security boat.
FLEXBILITY
We know that it can be difficult to know what level of kitesurfing course to choose from your home, but there is no need to worry! Whatever package you choose, if your instructor feels that another package would be more suitable, you will be able to change once you are there. You will never have to take part in a course that does not meet your expectations or your level. After each session your instructor will give you a detailed report, as well as advice on how to progress – whatever course you originally booked. Your success and progress is all that matters to us!

Information
Having fun while learning the very basics up to your first water starts. These are the 3 steps to get there :

Flying a kite on land: launching, landing and kite control

Flying a kite in the water: body dragging, control and re-launching

Getting up and riding on a board
You don’t need to be super-fit to kitesurf. And the kit is lightweight, so you don’t need lots of muscle strength either. But of course, a decent level of fitness will help you to progress faster.
Your instructor will be there to support you, coach you, and more importantly, keep you safe through the learning process.
We will provide a range of different DUOTONE KITEBOARDING kites, boards, bars suiting the wind conditions.
Usually, you will do 2 hours/day for the 6 hours course but if there are availability and wind conditions you might be able to squeeze in 2 sessions in a day. Please make sure you contact the center prior your arrival date to check the time of your lesson. Minimum of 24 hours before booking online.

Learn how to ride! – During this course you will learn how to do the Waterstart, ride Downwind, and control your speed!

This amazing spot in Sicily, Italy, features ultra-flat, shallow waters, making it perfect for beginners to learn and freestylers to perform tricks. Spanning around 7 kilometers in length and 3 kilometers in width, Lo Stagnone is one of Europe’s largest shallow water lagoons, with a depth that increases only toward the south, offering ideal conditions for kitesurfing, windsurfing, and wing foiling.
With top-quality Duotone kitesurfing, windsurfing, wing foiling, and stand-up paddle equipment, the center provides professional lessons for all skill levels in your favorite watersports.
BEST PERIODS
May-July and September-October
WIND
Lo Stagnone Lagoon sees about 300 windy days a year, with peak season from May to September/October, driven by thermal winds. Winds mainly come from northwest (Mistral), northeast (Grecale), and southeast (Scirocco), ranging from 14-20 knots. Summer temperatures average 30°C air and 23-25°C water, with winds strengthening in the afternoon.
WAVES
Lo Stagnone is a flat spot with shallow water, waves can only be found an hour south, with the right forecast.
HOW TO GET TO LO STAGNONE ?
The easiest way to travel to Stagnone lagoon is by plane: Trapani (TPS) airport sits 7 minutes from the spot. Else, Palermo (PMO) airport is 1 hour and a half from the spot (organized transfers are available). If you are travelling with a car or campervan, you can easily drive to Naples and then hop on a ferry to Palermo (10 hours, leaving in the evening and arriving early morning).
