Lo Stagnone Lagoon, located between Trapani and Marsala and bordered by the "Isola Grande" island, is a paradise for watersports lovers. This amazing spot in Sicily, Italy, features ultra-flat, shallow waters, making it perfect for beginners to learn and freestylers to perform tricks. Spanning around 7 kilometers in length and 3 kilometers in width, Lo Stagnone is one of Europe’s largest shallow water lagoons, with a depth that increases only toward the south, offering ideal conditions for kitesurfing, windsurfing, and wing foiling.

THE BEST SPOT IN SICILY
Their kite school offers direct access to the kite spot, allowing you to cruise around the vast lagoon and enjoy the stunning nature of Sicily. South winds provide the perfect opportunity to hop on a small boat and head to Tahiti, a deep-water spot on the back of the island, offering a peaceful escape from crowded waters. The location boasts crystal-clear waters on one side and fascinating pink salt fields on the other. Whether you’re seeking a relaxing day of kiting or an adventurous kite excursion, they have you covered.
Duotone Pro Center Sicily offers a unique family atmosphere and a serene environment, making it the perfect destination for watersports enthusiasts. Their kite school is home to freestyle world champion Gianmaria Coccoluto and frequently hosts top kitesurfing professionals like Noè Font, Mikaili Sol, Francesca Bagnoli, Andrea Principi, and more. WIND
Lo Stagnone Lagoon sees about 300 windy days a year, with peak season from May to September/October, driven by thermal winds. Winds mainly come from northwest (Mistral), northeast (Grecale), and southeast (Scirocco), ranging from 14-20 knots. Summer temperatures average 30°C air and 23-25°C water, with winds strengthening in the afternoon.

Lo Stagnone is a flat spot with shallow water, waves can only be found an hour south, with the right forecast.
HOW TO GET TO LO STAGNONE ?
The easiest way to travel to Stagnone lagoon is by plane: Trapani (TPS) airport sits 7 minutes from the spot. Else, Palermo (PMO) airport is 1 hour and a half from the spot (organized transfers are available). If you are travelling with a car or campervan, you can easily drive to Naples and then hop on a ferry to Palermo (10 hours, leaving in the evening and arriving early morning).

Yes, but as with all sports you need to have a certain level of fitness. We accept children aged 12 and over.

DO I NEED SURF SHOES ON THE SPOT?
It’s not mandatory, but small rocks can be found on the bottom of some parts of the lagoon, especially close to shore, so they can be useful, especially for beginners. Leggings or wetsuit are recommended for sensitive skin: it’s common to step on anemones during the session.
