A WORD FROM THE MANAGER
“Mauritius is heaven for watersports enthusiasts. As a kitesurfer, surfer or windsurfer this is definitely a place you should tick on your bucket list.
There is no other spot in the world that is so diverse, combining all the conditions that you may dream of in just one spot. The spot is formed by a peninsula slightly of the main coastline, right on the foot of the majestic Le Morne Brabant Mountain. Beginners can learn in a knee to waist deep standing area with flat water and onshore wind, which is also the perfect place to train freestyle tricks and just 200 m the conditions shift to sideshore with more chop , offering ideal bump and jump conditions. Waves are breaking on the reef about 400m from the shore and there everything you want to imagine from entry to expert level. Whether you are a windsurfer or kitesurfer, I guarantee you will absolutely love this place.”

LE MORNE KITE LAGOON
Le Morne is one of the best and most diverse spots for kitesurfing, wingfoiling, and windsurfing. All conditions are met for the practice of our beloved water sports: from flat water with a shallow depth in the kite lagoon, suitable for beginners, to the small waves of Little Reef for those learning to surf with the kite in the lagoon wind, and then the larger and more powerful waves of Manawa and Chameau, which are higher but not particularly dangerous. There is also the famous One-Eye wave, much more radical and reserved for experts. In summary, Le Morne is undoubtedly a perfect spot for riders of all levels. The wind is often side-off on the kite lagoon, but it is not dangerous due to the shallow water depth. It is the ideal place for beginners to start with kitesurfing or to progress. Moving to different areas of the spot, windsurfing and wingfoiling lessons are also offered.
PREMIUM SERVICES
The ION CLUB JW Mariott and ION CLUB Dinarobin boat will take you where the conditions are the best for you that day, and where there are no others, or only a few people around. These private half day sessions ensure a luxury learning experience. In waist deep water you will be taught with radio communication, your private instructor and skipper are commited to your progress, enjoyment and saftey.
Anse La Raie
Almost around the entire north-east of Mauritius runs a reefbelt, which is up to almost 2.5 kilometers off the coast. This creates a vast lagoon that is indeed not shallow, but it creates a huge and safe flat water play area. In addition the constant wind is blowing at an ideal angle almost always side shore from the left to the coast. Since the beach sections are rather small and rarely in the north of the island, we train the Kitesurfers from either the 300-meter-wide, mostly knee-deep and sandy bay of Anse la Raie or from a boat in the lagoon.
BEST PERIODS
June, July, August, September, October, November
WIND
The wind usually blows from the East or Southeast (left side-shore) and reaches an average speed of 12 to 20 knots during the Southern Hemisphere summer (November to March) and approximately 15 to 26 knots in winter (April to October). In winter, the trade winds are more prevalent and blow more strongly. Between December and April, there can be heavy precipitation.
WAVES
There are four main waves at Le Morne : Little Reef: Ideal for beginners looking to start wave navigation. Chameau and Manawa: Located a bit further offshore, these waves are higher and more powerful but with greater depth. They are suitable for intermediate levels. One Eye: This wave is characterized by shallow waters and considerable power. It is reserved for experienced wave riders with their own kite, wing, or windsurfing equipment.
Safety is ensured with a boat always ready to depart.
