DPC BOA VISTA

The Best of Surfing Elements

Location : Boa Vista, situated just a 10-minute walk from the vibrant Sal Rei city, Cape Verde

Season: November to April

Opening hours :Daily 9am to 18.00pm

Praia Carlota is located just a 10-minute walk south of Sal Rei, the capital, along a long, sandy bay. Unlike many other spots, it remains uncrowded. The lagoon features mostly flat water with a light shore break on windier days. The wind direction ranges from side-offshore to offshore, typically blowing between 15 to 25 knots, which is why they provide a rescue boat service for your safety.

This spot offers ideal conditions for kitesurfers of all levels, depending on the swell. Beginners and freestylers will love the smooth water and spacious area for kiting, jumping, and learning new tricks. Wave riders can explore several wave spots nearby and enjoy their own paradise. The deep water also makes it perfect for foiling, allowing you to start right from the shore. For the more advanced, a kite trip to the island of Djeu, located diagonally in front of the school, is a must.

Enjoy the endless summer, as the water temperature never drops below 20 degrees Celsius year-round, and the climate remains mild, dry, and sunny. And that's not all... In the water, you might even encounter turtles.

A WORD FROM THE TESTIMONIAL

I am very happy to open my first kite school in my favorite place on Earth. Boa Vista is the perfect playground to learn kitesurfing and to do downwinders. There are a couple of nice freestyle spots, and, of course, it is the best place for wave riding and surfing.

Located in a small bay on the northern part of the island, Ponta Antonia offers calm, flat water protected from the swell, with steady side-onshore winds—perfect for a relaxed session. Further along the coast, Praia da Atalanta features a long beach marked by the fascinating remains of a shipwreck. Always exposed to waves and side-onshore winds, it’s an ideal spot for those who enjoy riding in dynamic conditions. Praia de Chaves, with its expansive sandy stretch along the dunes, provides side winds and a powerful beach break when the swell hits, delivering an exhilarating experience for more advanced riders.

WIND

The water in the lagoon is mostly flat with a little shore break on the more windy days. The wind blows side offshore and usually ranges from 15 to 25 knots (trade wind) from the northeast with sporadic days of up to 30 knots (rescue boat service available). Unlike other bustling spots, we offer a serene and uncrowded experience.

WAVES

The round shape of the island makes it perfect for finding waves around it anytime. Swell is coming and hitting each spot around the islan differently, from beginner to really advanced waves. It's a great location for learing how to kitesurf in the waves, with the experienced tips of our instructors, who will suggest the best spot according to swell and wind direction every day.
