Zanzibar Kite Center is located on Paje Beach, a stunning beach of white sand on the southeast coast of Zanzibar, Tanzania. The spot is renowned for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and consistent, steady winds, making it ideal for kitesurfing and wingfoiling. The shallow lagoon extends for hundreds of meters, offering flat water conditions perfect for beginners and freestyle riders. Beyond the lagoon, more experienced kitesurfers can enjoy wavier conditions on the outer reef. After a day on the water, the beach transforms into a lively spot with beach bars, restaurants, and sunset sessions, adding to the overall experience of this idyllic kiteboarding destination.
The center benefits from reliable wind conditions, especially during the two main kite seasons: the Kaskazi winds from December to March and the Kuzi winds from June to September. Paje’s relaxed, laid-back atmosphere, combined with its natural beauty, creates a perfect setting for both adventure and relaxation.

THE BEST SPOT IN ZANZIBAR
PAJE
Paje, located on the southeastern coast of Zanzibar, is a kitesurfing paradise renowned for its breathtaking beauty and excellent conditions for all levels of kitesurfers. The spot features crystal-clear turquoise waters and wide, powdery white sandy beaches stretching for miles, creating a stunning backdrop for an unforgettable kitesurfing experience.
The shallow lagoon is protected by a coral reef about 1.5 kilometers offshore, providing flat, waist-deep water perfect for beginners learning to control the kite and for freestyle riders practicing new tricks.
The warm water temperatures mean you can comfortably kite in boardshorts or a light wetsuit all year round. The consistent trade winds, which blow side-onshore, typically range from 15 to 25 knots, making it ideal for both learning and advanced maneuvers.
Beyond the lagoon, the reef itself offers fantastic conditions for wave riding, with waves that vary in size depending on the season and swell direction. The waves are generally soft and forgiving, great for those looking to transition from flatwater to wave kiting.
