Feel like bringing your own equipment but don’t want to have to deal with the daily logistic side of this option ?
Our ION CLUB in Safaga is based directly on the beach, right in front of the kitesurfing spot. As one of our storage guest, you will have your own private storage box assigned to you. In this box you will be able to fit up to three wing and of course your wing board, as well as a foil board.
Besides the box, you will be free to use all the other center facilities, such as showers and changing rooms. The Wing storage boxes are accessible from outside the center, so you are not bound to the opening times of the center.
In case the wind is different than what you expected, of course you can always top up your own equipment range with our brandnew Duotone rental gear.

The wind in front of the ION CLUB Kitesurf Center in Safaga blows sideoffshore in the morning which is perfect for Kitesurf trips to the famous offshore spot Toubia island. At around 11.00 a.m. the wind usually turns sideshore and becomes a littel more steady.The wingfoil spot right in front of our ION CLUB Center is an amazing playground for wingfoilers of all levels. Ideal for exeptional freeriding, training manouvers, or flying along on your foil board.
Ask our local Team Members for recommendations on where to wingsurfing on every given day. Kiting only on one spot during your stay on Safaga would be a pity. Happy exploring:)!

Information
All our Kiteboarding Storage boxes are located right on the beach in front of the Kite Spot and are expecially designed to keep all your Kitesurfing gear safe. Please note, that access to the storage facilities is in many Centers restricted to the opening times of the Center. If you require access outside these hours, please contact the Center directly to arrange.
In all ION CLUB Centers, except of Tarifa and Cabarete, there is a Rescue Service included in your storage price. We consider situations, during which due to an injury, broken equipment, or change in Wind, assistance from our Team is needed, as a Rescue. Drifting due to lack of level or experience is considered a Taxi Service and will be charged by the Center.
Please note: In Golf De Roses, storage boxes are 77cm wide, 75cm deep and 200 cm tall. The fuselage with the wings can be mounted but separated from the mast and there is enough space for 2-3 wings(in their bags), neoprene etc...

A word about
ION CLUB SAFAGA
Located about 50 kilometers south of Hurghada, the Egyptian destination of Safaga is home to many scuba diving clubs, and is also one of the best wingsurfing, kitesurfing and windsurfing spots in Egypt. The contrast between the deep blue and turquoise colours of the Red Sea, and the arid mountains of the hinterland makes Safaga a fantastic setting for your kitesurfing or wingfoiling trip in this particularly windy desert. Since 1991, the ION CLUB Safaga center, close to the Shams hotels, has been one of the best addresses among the kitesurfing centers in Egypt. ION CLUB Safaga has offered kitesurfing since 2003, with courses and rentals on offer. Recently we offer wingfoiling courses and rental. One of the highlights of the spot for all kitesurfers, wingfoilers and windsurfers are the organized trips to the paradise island of Tobia, a small sandy island located close by.

WIND
In the morning, the wind blows side-offshore, coming from the left when looking at the sea, turning side-shore around noon. The wind conditions in the morning favour kitesurfing and windsurfing beginners. It is also a perfect opportunity for independent kiters to take advantage of an excursion to Tobia Island, a sandy island surrounded by turquoise water less than 4 kilometers from the ION CLUB center ... not to be missed! In the afternoon, the wind turns to side-shore and often becomes stronger, around 20-25 knots, sometimes a little more until the end of the day. In order to limit incidents between kitesurfers and windsurfers, two separate areas are set up, and the few coral areas are clearly marked. You can relax and sail without risk … the Safaga kitesurfing and windsurfing center has thought of everything!

HOW TO GET THERE ?
From Hurghada Airport
After leaving Hurghada airport, take the new highway south to Safaga. Follow the highway for about 45 minutes (60 km), then take the first exit before Safaga. After about 200 meters, turn left in front of the Amarina Hotel and drive to the end of the road, where you will find the Shams Hotels and the ION CLUB center.
