Kitesurf Lessons

The kitesurfing spots around Tarifa are the most famous in the whole of Europe. Our beach in front of ION CLUB Tarifa is the perfect area to make the most of both of the main wind directions in Tarifa – LEVANTE and PONIENTE. With levante the wind blows side shore to side off-shore, and we have the safest part of the beach for us with poniente, as it blows in the opposite direction. During the year we have at least 300 days with wind, making kitesurfing lessons possible almost every day. There is also the opportunity to book lessons from our boat, finding the best wind conditions and maximum space. Whether you are a complete beginner, an intermediate rider or an expert wanting to learn some special tricks or how to foil, Tarifa is the perfect playground for you.
All of our kitesurfing lessons are given by professional and certified instructors with internationally recognised licenses, such as FAV or VDWS, and we offer lessons in several languages.

We also offer kitesurfing with a boat for a more progressive experience and to allow you to have more space in the water. Indeed, far from the beach and the world, the ocean is yours! No need to walk to get upwind!

First of all, we start from the beach for an easy and quick set up and then we let ourselves drift in complete safety.

The boat allows us to avoid the small waves near the beach when we are on the beach and to avoid staying too close to the coast when we are on the beach. You have the possibility to make longer tacks, you will have more private spaces.

The instructor follows you in the boat to ensure teaching and safety. The boat will bring you upwind and accompany you on your downwind descent.

You will be equipped with a radio to be in constant contact with the instructor.

The return is done by boat with a debriefing on board and an individualized return.

For the more experienced, the “down wind” are also proposed thanks to the boat services.

We understand that aside from professional tuition, the most important thing when it comes to learning how to kite is time to practice. This is why we organise all of our lessons in a way to maximize your time with the kite, without sacrificing your safety of course.
Here at ION CLUB Tarifa, we focus on a more personal approach rather than on big groups. Most of our lessons are organised in semi-private groups, so that you always have your own kite to practice with, and you don’t have to share it with others.

In order to provide you with instant feedback especially during our advanced lesson program, our instructors use radio headsets enabling them to communicate with you while riding. The BB Talking radio system is in use by our center.

We understand that deciding on the correct kitesurf package from the comfort of your home might be challenging. Don’t you worry! Even if you chose a package, that turns out to be under or over your limits or expectations, we are more than happy to assist you with the choice. You will never have to join a lesson, which actually does not suit your expectations or level.

After every session your instructor will give you detailed feedback and recommendation on how to continue – no matter which course you initially booked. Your success, progress and happiness is all that matter to us!
